Building on the expectation of the days to come, we will have a stage that will warm up our climbing legs. We will have to crown two climbs before being rewarded with great views on a long and sweeping descent. It’s a nice and challenging day ahead of the challenges to come. Distance: 120km Altitude gain: 1800mts
A magnificent monster of a stage, 82 kms of continuous climbing and 20 kms for today’s stage. This is one of a kind cycling experience. A test of patience, perseverance from which comes great rewards. Starting at 700 meters above sea level, climbing to 3800 meters, you’ll experience all possible climates and the ultimate satisfaction of completing this amazing stage. Distance: 102km Altitude gain: 3900mts
Following our monster stage from the previous day, this day will be a tough challenge, but rewards you with some of the most incredible landscapes Colombia has to offer. We start with a swift descent, nearly 30 kms of it will be cruising down to the Cauca River valley, which we will see for the next few days. We couldn’t finish the day with out a good climb! Climbing from 800 meters above sea level to our destination at 1800 meters above sea level will have our spirits high. Distance: 85km Altitude gain: 1800mts
La Pintada lives up to its name – “The Painting.” At the foothills of the central Andean Colombian mountain range, banked by the second largest river in Colombia and lush tropical vegetation. This stage is much less demanding, rather flat and downwards, a great way to recover from our previous mountain stages, but one of those stages everybody really enjoys. Distance: 95km Altitude gain: 1200mts.
A new day, a new challenge – Alto de Minas (Height of the Mines). This legendary climb, which forged the story of “Los Escarabajos” or The Beetles, during the big cycling routes of the 1980s. We will have 40 kms of climbing to overcome. At the crest of this climb, you will see Medellin, our resting spot at the end of this riding day. Distance: 73km Altitude gain: 2800mts.
Medellin, the city of eternal spring is a great place for a rest day. Enjoy the wellness area at the hotel, or go for a walk through the city center
